Oh God, Merciful
Father, that by mediation of Jesus our Redeemer and of his Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the action of the Holy Spirit, you granted your Servant, John Paul II,
Servus Servorum Dei, the exemplary grace to be a Shepherd in the service of the Pilgrim Church, of the sons and daughters of the Church and of all the men and women of good will, that I also will know how to respond with fidelity to the demands of the Christian vocation, changing all the moments and circumstances of my life to acts of loving you and of serving the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. I beg you to glorify your Servant John Paul II,
Servus Servorum Dei, and grant me by his intercession the favor that I ask
(here make your petition). To you, Omnipotent Father, origin of the cosmos and man, by Christ, the one that lives, Lord of time and of history, in the Holy Spirit that sanctifies the universe, praise, honor and glory now and
forever. Amen.
Our Father.
Hail Mary. Glory be to the Father.
In
conformity with the decrees of Pope Urban VIII, we declare that there
is no intention of anticipating in any way the judgment of the Church,
and that this prayer is not intended for public use.

O Blessed Trinity . We thank
You for having graced the Church with Pope John Paul II and for
allowing the tenderness of your Fatherly care, the glory of the
cross of Christ, and the splendor of the Holy Spirit, to shine
through him. Trusting fully in Your infinite mercy and in the
maternal intercession of Mary, he has given us a living image of
Jesus the Good Shepherd, and has shown us that holiness is the
necessary measure of ordinary Christian life and is the way of
achieving eternal communion with you. Grant us, by his
intercession, and according to Your will, the graces we implore,
hoping that he will soon be numbered among your saints. Amen.
Our Father.
Hail Mary. Glory be to the Father.
With
ecclesiastical approval

CARDINAL
CAMILLO RUINI
the Holy Father’s Vicar General
for the Diocese of Rome.
